01 Ledge help
Ledge, answered.
The questions people ask most. Not here? Send it to support and you’ll get a reply from the person who wrote Ledge.
01 Where is Ledge on a Mac without a notch?
On flat-top and external displays it sits as a small pill at the top center of the screen. Hover it to expand, or press ⌘⌥N from anywhere.
02 A module is empty or says it needs access.
Some modules need a permission: Calendar needs Calendars, Weather needs Location, Mirror needs the camera, and Now Playing needs Automation access to Music or Spotify. Grant them from the menu bar → Set Up Permissions…, or in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
03 Now Playing doesn’t show my music.
Ledge reads Spotify and Apple Music over AppleScript, so macOS asks once per player. If you said no, allow Ledge under System Settings › Privacy & Security › Automation.
04 How do I use Claude in the notch?
Ledge uses the claude command-line tool (Claude Code) when it’s installed. Otherwise set an API key from the menu bar → Set Claude API Key….
05 How does the ledge CLI work?
Menu bar → Install ‘ledge’ CLI… puts it on your PATH. Then ledge run make test shows a spinner in the notch and the result when it finishes; ledge notify, ledge progress, and ledge timer push other status.
06 How do I buy Ledge?
Ledge is free for 7 days, then $9.99 once. Settings › Account › Register… signs you in on shafer.llc, takes you through checkout, and hands the key back to Ledge; you can also paste the key from your account page. Free keys from Ledge 1.0 don’t unlock 1.1 and later.
07 I have a new Mac. How do I move my registration?
Register on the new Mac the same way. To drop an old Mac, remove it on your account page, or regenerate the key there — Macs still using the old key are unregistered at their next check.
08 How do I uninstall Ledge?
Choose Quit Ledge from the menu bar and drag Ledge from Applications to the Trash. If you installed the CLI, delete the ledge link it added to your PATH — which ledge shows where it is.
